Top 10 GitHub repos every Claude Code user needs

Last month, I spent half a day testing dozens of GitHub repos for Claude Code. CLAUDE.md files that promise to "revolutionize" your agent, skills packs with 200 files, multi-agent frameworks...

Most are forks with no real value. But a handful of repositories genuinely change the game.

Here are the top 10, ranked by star count and real-world utility. No hastily generated list. Each repo has been tested, integrated, or recommended based on concrete use cases.

1. obra/superpowers (284k stars)

The most starred repo in the Claude Code ecosystem, and for good reason. Superpowers is not just a skills pack. It is a methodological framework that teaches your agent how to think before acting.

The principle: instead of giving Claude a list of tasks, you give it a problem-solving methodology. Reinforcement learning, systematic verification, task decomposition. Concepts from DeepMind research, adapted for prompt engineering.

Concrete use case: A project manager who wants their agent to analyze a sales process before suggesting automations. Superpowers forces the agent to ask the right questions before writing code.

Verdict: Essential if you use Claude Code for complex tasks. The base CLAUDE.md alone already significantly improves output quality.

2. affaan-m/ECC (255k stars)

ECC stands for "Every Claude Code". It is a complete agent performance optimization system: skills, hooks, MCP servers, and above all a configuration framework that adapts Claude's behavior to the context.

ECC's strength: it does not just give your agent capabilities. It manages the context window, optimizes token calls, and routes tasks to the right tools.

Concrete use case: A company using Claude Code for B2B prospecting and content creation. ECC allows keeping the same agent but with different "modes" depending on the task.

Verdict: The most complete on this list. If you could only pick one, this would be it.

3. multica-ai/andrej-karpathy-skills (212k stars)

This repo has a simple and surprising premise: a single CLAUDE.md file, inspired by Andrej Karpathy's teachings, to improve any Claude agent's behavior.

No skills, no hooks, no complex configuration. Just a text file that guides Claude toward better decisions. The theory: 80% of quality issues come from inadequate base prompting.

Concrete use case: A business owner new to Claude Code who wants immediate gains without installing 15 dependencies. Copy the file, place it at the project root, done.

Verdict: The best entry point for beginners. Zero configuration, immediate impact.

4. anthropics/skills (175k stars)

Anthropic's official repository. No marketing, no hype: skills validated by the team that built Claude.

The collection covers most common use cases: debugging, refactoring, documentation, testing, and especially prompt patterns that leverage the model's latest capabilities.

Concrete use case: A tech team wanting reliable baseline skills, with no compatibility risk. The official starting point before exploring community repos.

Verdict: The reference. Install first, before any customization.

5. anthropics/claude-code (144k stars)

The source repository for Claude Code itself. Not a skills repo, but the official documentation, examples, migration guides, and best practices from Anthropic for their tool.

Useful for understanding the internal architecture, advanced configuration options, and usage patterns that the Anthropic team recommends.

Concrete use case: A developer who wants to understand how Claude Code handles context, tools, and permissions before building their own skills.

Verdict: The living documentation. Read it like a manual before driving a high-performance car.

6. Panniantong/Agent-Reach (79k stars)

The repo that popularized LinkedIn integration with Claude Code. Agent-Reach gives your agent the ability to see the entire LinkedIn network: profiles, posts, comments, messages.

The approach differs from classic prospecting tools: instead of scraping data to send to a CRM, Agent-Reach lets the agent analyze and respond in real time.

Concrete use case: A B2B salesperson who wants their agent to identify the best prospects among post commenters, and generate personalized messages based on actual profiles.

Verdict: Essential for any serious LinkedIn operation. The bridge between Claude Code and the professional network.

7. microsoft/autogen (60k stars)

Autogen is not specifically a Claude Code tool, but it is the reference framework for multi-agent orchestration. Microsoft built a system where multiple agents collaborate, each with a defined role.

The interest for Claude Code: you can orchestrate multiple Claude instances with different roles (analyst, coder, reviewer) in the same workflow.

Concrete use case: A complex project where one agent analyzes requirements, another codes, and a third reviews the result. Autogen manages inter-agent communication.

Verdict: For advanced projects. If you use Claude Code solo, keep it in reserve for later.

8. hesreallyhim/awesome-claude-code (54k stars)

The curated reference list. If you are looking for anything in the Claude Code ecosystem, this is where to start. Skills, MCPs, hooks, extensions, guides, comparisons...

The maintainer does regular curation work. No broken links, no abandoned repos without mention.

Concrete use case: The first place to search when you have a specific need. "Does a skill exist for X?" The answer is probably in awesome-claude-code.

Verdict: The Google of the Claude Code ecosystem. Bookmark it.

9. coreyhaines31/marketingskills (49k stars)

Dedicated marketing skills for Claude Code. Copywriting, SEO, email sequences, landing pages, competitive analysis. Everything a B2B business owner might need to delegate to their agent.

What sets this repo apart: the skills are not generic. They are calibrated for real contexts, with templates that work and concrete examples.

Concrete use case: A business owner who wants their agent to generate prospecting email sequences adapted to their industry, based on French B2B best practices.

Verdict: The most useful for non-technical profiles. Directly applicable to business growth.

10. sickn33/agentic-awesome-skills (46k stars)

The big collector. Hundreds of skills organized by category: development, data, operations, communication, strategy. The strength is in the diversity.

The weakness too: with so much choice, you need to filter. But the repo provides clear descriptions and selection criteria that make filtering easier.

Concrete use case: A freelancer or AI consultant who wants to build a skills library to cover all their clients' needs.

Verdict: The supermarket. Not the best for a specific need, but unbeatable for quantity and variety.
