AI governance encompasses the rules, processes and responsibilities that frame Artificial Intelligence usage within an organization. It covers usage policies, regulatory compliance (GDPR, EU AI Act), bias management, automated decision traceability and human oversight. 3. An identified owner who decides and reports to leadership.
4. A regular review of agents in production: errors, costs, incidents.

The regulatory framework to know

The European AI Act applies in stages since 2024 and sets obligations proportionate to a system's risk level. It notably includes an AI literacy obligation for staff who use AI, applicable since February 2025. GDPR adds on top as soon as personal data is processed.
